Dialogue is Increased
The Migration and Civil Society Project strengthens the dialogue not only among public institutions and civil society organizations, but also among CSOs operating in the field of migration and international protection. Within the scope of the project, civil society actors have the opportunity to share their works and increase the visibility of their activities. By sharing their works and experiences, they also share the goals they want to achieve in this area with a louder voice. The project also plays an active role in establishing mutual information exchange grounds in civil society organizations operating in different themes in the field of migration and international protection. Civil society organizations active in research and advocacy in the field of migration and international protection are being identified for cooperation and dialogue. The foundations of learning and collaboration are being established with the improved dialogue.
Cooperation is Provided
The ever-increasing number of foreigners in our country has revealed the need to improve existing practice methods in the field of migration and international protection. This required the institutions working in the field of migration and international protection to act in cooperation with each other. The Migration & Civil Society Project aims to ensure that the institutions operating in this regard carry out more effective and sustainable work with the existing collaborations. The project supports sustainable cooperation between public and civil society actors in this regard. It identifies the common areas where non-governmental organizations can play a role, and ensures their participation as practitioners in these areas. Thus, it enables the actors operating in line with common goals in the field of immigration to reach more immigrants and carry out more effective works with their strengthened cooperation.
Civil Society Organizations are Strengthened
Within the scope of the project, civil society organizations working in the field of migration and international protection are actively involved in policy and decision-making processes. With designing a training module to take part in the implementation of these policies, trainings are given to civil society organizations. In addition, by developing standard operating procedures, the CSOs had the opportunity to closely follow the best practices carried out in this field in Europe. In addition to the roles and functions of civil society organizations active in research and advocacy in the field of migration and international protection, model protocols and standard working procedures are developed. Sustainability and independence of civil society organizations are supported with directory of donors and innovative fund programs, which are among the important steps of the project.
Networking Activities are Getting Stronger
Improving the sharing of knowledge and experience between civil society and public authorities is of great importance in carrying out activities in the field of migration more effectively. The project is improving the dialogue between civil society and public institutions in order to strengthen the effective networking activities. Network of CSOs is supported by the municipalities, local administrations, regional and national administrations at national level. Accordingly, civil society actors in Turkey are coming together with the relevant actors working in the field of migration in Europe at the workshops that will be organized under the project and they find an opportunity to promote their activities and to familiarise with the projects carried out in this field at international level.
